Goodbye my Baby, Goodbye my Honey, Goodbye my Ragtime Gal!!
Okay, now that I have been 1) annoying 2) overly dramatic and 3) dated myself with those misquoted lyrics, I’m just signing off of tumblr for the day or possibly longer. I have too much to get done, and I feel much too selfish posting in my spare minutes when I don’t have time to get to my dash. I hate ignoring you guys.
My landlord is coming for a mini inspection of sorts (not in his mind, but that’s how I’m taking it), and the house is a hellhole of boxes and piles. I also have a huge garage sale in two days, and moving day is on June 1st, not to mention my kids still have their normal slew of activities, including a birthday party for twins on Saturday night.
We are still waiting to find out if Zack’s band made it into the Battle of the Bands, which is also on the 1st. His best friend may boycott, because he was kicked out à la Pete Best. Zack said, “Come on Logan; it wasn’t like that.” His mom told him, “Maybe it’s because you took two guitar lessons ever, and they actually wanted someone who could play the bass.” There is a lot of laughter involved. Logan did invite Zack to be his “ballscoop assistant” if he has to get his balls scooped at the doctor next week. Zack not so regretfully declined.
On a related note, does anyone know how to teach kids stage presence? They can play all right, and their lead singer is pretty good, but besides their bass player, who tries a little, they have all the energy of dead fish on stage (said as a loving mother). They just don’t have any experience under their belt, and they need to work up some confidence, I think. They could sure use a coach of some kind. Anyone know anything about this? There’s a youtube tape of their audition. If anyone is curious or has advice, send me an ask.
Thanks, and I’m back to work!
