I think my Burberry cashmere scarf really classes up my Montana zip line t-shirt. Big bonus-it was $17 cheaper too!
And now for something lighter. Throwback to 2006ish when I dyed my hair and cut it short. I may have posted this before, but I have no idea.

Flashback Friday-to yesterday after the field trip. It turns out that blow drying your hair straight is a complete waste of time if you’re only going to take a 35 minute walk in the rain.
My Monday mug. I’m optimistically wearing a jacket this morning, Even though it’s supposed to be 99° today. I am ready for this autumn weather I hear so many of you talking about. Got my son to school by 6:45, the next one by 7:45, and now I’m off to pick up the youngest. I was going to say littlest, but she’s 5’4.5”, and she’ll be eleven tomorrow. I always think she’s shorter than Isabella, who was 5’6” in 6th grade, but then I remember that Bella turned twelve in 6th grade.

I’ve been sitting on a box at Costco for the past half hour, since Nick got an important work call. I can hear him selling himself. That man works so hard for us.
Side note-I realized I was breaking at least two of tweetface’s tongue-in-cheek older woman rules (long hair and no chestal support-hey, it’s hot, and I wasn’t planning on being out in public), so I decided to throw on some red lipstick and go for broke. All I’m missing is leopard print.

Zombie mom in the parking lot waiting out the last game. I don’t feel like being with people, even though I actually put on mascara and lip gloss (about all the makeup the 15 year old has left me).
Thanks for all the love and support from you guys. I am not really as emo as I sound. Okay, I may actually be worse, but not constantly, because life is busy. And no matter how painful some of the nastiness that I’m dealing with is right now, I’m kind of relieved to finally be doing it.
I wanted a drink so badly last night, just to numb my pain, but Nick said, “Beka, you’ve spent 40 years trying not to think about this and now you’re confronting it. You have to go through this.”
Damn him anyway.
But, he’s right. I am not going to spend any more time burying my head in the sand hoping things will go away. It has always been my family’s policy, and it has ruined a lot of their lives. Not mine.
